Handicap Index®
A Handicap Index allows LGA members to track their progress and compete against others on an equitable basis. A Handicap Index is required to play in LGA competitions as well as in many club events.

Fantasy Golf Leagues

The LGA conducts numerous championships, tournaments, and qualifiers at member clubs from April through November for men, women and juniors of all ages. We also administer many qualifying events in Louisiana for USGA championships.

How Do I Get A GHIN Number? Once a golfer joins a club and is added to its handicap roster, they will receive their GHIN number via email.
For How Long Is My LGA Membership Valid? LGA memberships are valid for the current calendar year. Memberships activate on January 1st and expire on December 31st, with the exception of the USGA/LGA GC which is valid for 365 days after signing up.
If My Membership Expires, Do I Have To Get A New GHIN Number And Start Over With My Scoring Card? No, if your membership expires, your GHIN number and scoring record is simply made inactive until you choose to reactivate it at the same club or a new one.
What Should I Do If I Have Two GHIN Numbers? Sometimes when a golfer joins a new club, they are inadvertently assigned a new GHIN number instead of having their existing one transferred. In that case, contact the LGA office and we will merge the records.
